Abstract
Objective To study the changes of serum biochemical indicators in Wenchuan earthquake relief soldiers after 2-year convalescence. Methods A total of 308 male soldiers who took part in Wenchuan earthquake relief served as an earthquake relief group and 50 age-matched male soldiers served as a control group.Forty serum biochemical indicators were compared. Results The 10 biochemical indicators reflecting the nutritional state were significantly higher while the ALP and LDH levels were significantly lower in earthquake relief group than in control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The nutrition and metabolic function of earthquake relief workers are improved with a rather good tolerance to daily training after long-term convalescence.
