Distribution of regions and genders in admitted patients of Chinese PLA General Hospital

Objective To investigate the distribution of regions and genders in admitted patients of Chinese PLA General Hospital. Methods A total of 83 569 hospitalized patients and 2 302 patients waiting for admission were analyzed. Results The hospitalized patients came from 33 administration areas including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province.However,the majority of them came from the provinces of North China and Northeast China.The hospitalized female patients from Beijing accounted for 52.89%,which was significantly higher than those from other provinces and cities.The patients waiting for admission came from 29 administration areas（no one from Hong Kong and Macro Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan Province）.No significant difference was found in the distribution of regions between hospitalized patients and those waiting for admission.However,the number of patients waiting for Admission from Beijing was slightly higher than that from Hebei Province.The ratio of male and female patients waiting for admission was 1∶1.151,which was slightly higher than that（1∶0.789） of hospitalized male and female patients（P＜0.001）. Conclusion The ratio of male and female patients waiting for admission was negatively correlated with that of hospitalized male and female patients and the patients are mainly distributed in North and Northeast China.
