Abstract
Objective To study the effect of rutoside (Ru) on pancreatic capillary permeability in rats with acute pancreatitis (AP). Methods Forty-eight Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, AP group, high-, middle-, low-dosage Ru groups, and Dan shen (Radix Salviae Militorrhize) group (n=8). Three and six hours after establishment of the models, serum amylase level and PLA2 activity were measured in blood samples taken from inferior vena cava of rats, and pancreatic tissue samples were used to determine the capillary permeability and pathology of the pancreas. Results Six hours after establishment of the models, the pancreatic capillary permeability was 89.10±26.02mg/g, 405.25±234.48mg/g, 132.79±56.72mg/g, 203.83±89.06mg/g, 263.84±113.02mg/g, and 191.22±77.05mg/g, respectively, in the 6 groups, while the pancreatic capillary permeability was lower in the high-and middle-dosage Ru groups than in the AP group (P<0.01). Conclusion Ru can significantly reduce the pancreatic capillary permeability in rats with AP and improve their pancreatic lesions.
