Analysis of 101 cases of perinatal death

This paper deals with the perinatal death in 101 cases,classified according to the 1st set of criterion adopted by WHO. During the period of 1978—1982.the overall perinatal mortality rate was 16.61‰.in which 46 infants died of congenital defects （45.5%）,28 of pulmonary disease （27.7%） and 5 of intra- cranial bleeding （5.0%）.Among the remaining 22 case,21 died in the uterus and 1 of cytomoga- lovirus infection with the pathologic finding of interstitial pneumonia,caugenital malformation and putmonary disorders as the congenital causes of death. Basing upon the above analysis,it is clear that the intra-uterine diagnosis of congenital ma- lformation,the avoidance of prematurity,the reduction or prevention of asnhyxia,the decrease of the chance of developing lung disease,the prectice of pre-labor health program the prevention and treatment of complications in the mother and the lowering of the incidence of difficult labor will effectively reduce the perinatal death rate.
