AN ANALYSIS OF IMMUNOLOGIC CROSS REACTION BETWEEN HCG AND HLH WITH LH-RH STIMULATION TEST

LH-RH stimulation test is a dynamic one for assay of the capacity reserve of gon- adotrophins secreted by the pituitary.It is used to distinguish the origin of sex dysfun- ction existing in the hypothalamus and that in the pituitary.Utilizing the theory of immunologic cross reaction between HLH and HCG,HCG-RIA is used to measure the value ol HLH.In this article the reaction types and absolute values of HLH-RIA and that of HCG-RIA for 23 time in 18 patients sufferring from various type of ame- norrhea were tested with two different kits to determine the validity of LH value mea- sured with HCG-RIA. The HCG-RIA kit was prepared in China,While the HLH-RIA kit was donated by WHO.The pituitary gland was stimulated with 9 peptide LH-RH. The results showed that while most subjects gave normal reaction with HLH-RIA, a lower and weaker reaction occurs with HCG-RIA,suggesting an incomplete immun- ologic cross reaction between HLH and HCG.The HCG-RIA is less sensitive as comp- ared with HLH-RIA.
