Biodistribution of 11C-podophyllotoxin in murine model of lung carcinoma

  • Objective To investigate the biodistribution of 11C-podophyllotoxin (11C-PDT) in a murine model of lung carcinoma. Methods Mice bearing lung carcinoma were randomly divided into three groups according to the injection time of 11C-PDT. Biodistribution of 11C-PDT in mice was detected with a well-gamma detector 15, 30, and 60min after 11C-PDT injection from the tail vein. Results The distribution of 11C-PDT radioactivity was the highest in kidneys. A considerable radioactive uptake was observed in the tumor. However, the tumor/muscle ratio was rather high 60min after 11C-PDT injection. Conclusion 11C-PDT can be used as a promising PET tracer for lung carcinoma.
