Medical English teaching in Beijing postgraduates schools

Objective To investigate the status quo of medical English teaching in postgraduates in order to provide the reference for optimizing it. Methods Medical English teaching in 6 postgraduate medical schools of Beijing were investigated.Course offered,selection of textbooks and training of teachers were analyzed. Results The models of medical English teaching and training of teachings were flexible and diversified,the training model of teachers was gradually enriched,but the construction of textbooks was less than satisfactory and should be standardized. Conclusion Importance has been attached to the training of practical ability to use English.Transformation has been completed from simple general English teaching to varied and meticulous medical English teaching for improving the medical English level of medical professionals.
