Abstract
In this paper, we precent two cases in whieh the anterior portion of the ramus is used to reconstruct the body of the mandible. The operation in both cases is successful and gives us the following experiences: (1) The upward displaced ramus can be reduced easily to its original position after the anterior portion of the ramus has been freed by osteotomy. (2) The defect of the body of the mandible can be satisfactorily reconstructed by the fragment of the anterior portion of the ramus. The details of the operation are described and discussed.
