Comparison of pulmonary function in the elder patients with lung cancer submitted to lung exeresis

  • Objective: To study the changes of pulmonary functions in elder patients with lung cancer before and after submitted to lung exeresis. Methods: 76 elder patients with lung cancer were selected; pulmonary functions were performed in patients with lung cancer before and after submitted to lung exeresis. Routine methods of pulmonary functions was tested. Results: Vital capacity(VC), forced vital capacity(FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1s(FEV1) was descended 47.17%; 44.77%; 39.68% respectively in the patients with the pneumonectomy; VC, FVC, FEV1was descended about 20% in the elder patients after lobectomy; The descent rates of VC, FVC, FEV1were severer in the lobectomy than the pneumonectomy. Conclusions: VC, FVC, FEV1was descended about 20% in the elder patients after lobectomy. The descent rates of VC, FVC, FEV1were severe in the lobectomy than the pneumonectomy.
