Effect of all-trans retinoic acid on VEGF expression in human malignant melanoma A375 cells

  • Objective To investigate the effect of all-trans retinoic acid(ATRA)on level of mRNA and protein expression levels in malignant melanoma A375 cells in vitro. Methods VEGF-B mRNA and VEGF protein expression levels in A375 cells were measured by real-time PCR and ELISA,respectively. Results ATRA decreased the VEGF-B mRNA and VEGF protein expression levels in supernatant of cultured A375 cells(P<0.05). Conclusion ATRA decreases the VEGF-B mRNA and VEGF protein expression levels in A375 cells in a dose-dependent manner.
