Familial paroxysmal choreoathetosis

Familial paroxysmol choreoathetosis（FPCA） is a rare involuntary movement disorder. Attacks are usually induced by movement or startle. Onset occurs most. often during childhood and the course is nonprogressive. Two cases of FPGA are reported. They had attacks after initiation of movement. Results of physical examinations were normal during the intervals of attacks. Results of laboratory studies, EEGs and GT scans of the head were normal. The attacks were ceased after the treatment of Phenytoin.
