Factors influencing blood transfusion dring liver transplantation

Objective To study the factors influencing blood transfusion during liver transplantation. Methods The amount of blood transfused in 97 patients admitted to our hospital in the past 2 years for liver transplantation was retrospectively analyzed. Results The suspended red blood cells,fresh frozen plasma and cryoprecipitates used during liver transplantation accounted for 29.31%,29.91% and 28.25% of the total transfused blood components,respectively.Liver donors,anesthesiologists,and preoperative diagnosis of diseases had a significant effect on blood transfusion during liver transplantation,while preoperative liver function staging,surgeons,and age of patients had no effect on the intraoperative blood loss and blood transfusion. Conclusion Many factors can influence the blood transfusion during liver transplantation.Reducing the controllable factors and optimizing the uncontrollable factors are the effective measures to improve early warning of preoperative blood transfusion and protect blood during liver transplantation.
