Clinical observation and nursing of inpatient with lymphocytic hypophysitis

Objective To improve the understanding of lymphocytic hypophysitis by summarizing the experience in nursing of the patients. Methods Clinical characteristics,treatment,and nursing of 51 lymphocytic hypophysitis patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results The common clinical manifestations of lymphocytic hypophysitis were hypopituitarism,headache,and diabetes insipidus,with typical lymphocyte infiltration in pathology,and lesions not limited to the saddle area and pituitary stalk extending into the surrounding tissue on imaging.High dose methylprednisolone therapy could effectively relieve the disease. Conclusion Good results can be achieved in treatment of lymphocytic hypophysitis by improving the mental state of patients via psychological nursing and health education before and after high dose methylprednisolone therapy.
