Matching of indirect meniscus measurement indexes

Objective To screen simple and reliable meniscal matching measurement. Methods Six randomly numbered fresh human right knees underwent X-ray and MRI examination.The anatomic indexes of menisci were measured after the soft tissue was removed and the knee was isolated.Five indirect indexes of menisci（CWTP,SWMTP,SWLTP,CWMTP,and CWLTP） were measured by X-ray and MRI using the UniSight Version 4.2b system and analyzed using the CHISS2006 statistics software. Results The indexes of CWTP,SWMTP,SWLTP measured by MRI were stable and repeatable.The indexes of CWMTP,CWLTP were instable and inaccurate compared to those of anatomy. Conclusion The indexes of CWTP,SWMTP,SWLTP measured by MRI can be accepted as standard meniscal matching measurements for allograft.
