Passive smoking animal model

We used metabolic cage which filled cigarette smoke for obtaining passive smoking urine.The mutagenicity of urine against Salmonella typhimurium strain TA98 TA100 with or without adding the metabolic activator was examined.reverted colonies was calculated in terms of 0.1 mmol urinary creatinine.Different method showed that the smoking urine had significantly higher mutagenic activity than the control and the contaminated urine.The animal model is useful in study of mutagenicity in passive smoker.
