Abstract
Purpose: To investigate the techique of phacoemulfication in situ for cataract. Methods: 37 eyes of 35 cases were included and the hardness of nucleus were I II degree 16 eyes, III degree 15 eyes, IV degree 6 eyes. Tunnel incision was and in situ phacoemulfication and IOL implantation was performed on all cases. Phaco time was 45"-3’45"(everage 1’52"). Results: 30 eyes(81.8%) was successful in situ. visual acuity of 0.5 or better and 1.0 or better one week post operation were obtained in 73.0% and 54.1% respectively, and 83.8% and 70.3% 1~3 months follow-up. Conclusion: the technique of phacoemulfication in situ for cataract extraction is worthy to spread due to its short operation time, minimum post operative astigmatism and fast restored visual acuity.
