Detection of Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever Virus in Oral Mucous Membraneby Colloid-Gold Electron Microscope

The soft uraniscus membrane of 5 cases suffering from eariy severe epidemic hemorr-hagic fever（EHF）was studied by colloid-gold electron microscope。 The gold particles were found in the paranuclear region, phagolysosome, cytoplasmic rough endoplasmic reticulum and on the surface of cytomembrane and in the intercellular space of the squarnous epithelia.The gold particles appeared as cluster, garland, linear, beaded or patchy arrangment. Some of them atta-ched to the surfaces of virus nuceo-capsid,others labelled in virus crystal lattices. But on the controled slices, no gold particles were found. It was the first time to demonstrate that the squamous Epithelial cells of oral soft uraniscus were also the target cells invaded by eHF virus.we provided a new location in host for EHF virus.
