Treatment of autoimmune bullous diseases with combined immunoglobulin and glucocorticoid hormone

Objective To assess the therapeutic effect and adverse reactions of high immunoglobulin dose in combination with glucocorticoid hormone in patients with autoimmune bullous diseases.Methods Thirty-two patients with autoimmune bullous diseases were treated with intravenous immunoglobulin（0.4g/（kg·d）） plus glucorticoid hormone for 5 days.Results Good outcome was achieved in all the patients.No new blister was found and mucosal lesions were disappeared in 93.8% of the patients 2-6 days after treatment with no adverse reaction.Thus,the dose of glucorticoid hormone was reduced.Conclusion High intravenous immunoglobulin dose plus glucorticoid hormone can shorten the treatment course of autoimmune bullous diseases and reduce the adverse reactions to glucorticoid hormone,and is thus an effective adjuvant therapy for autoimmune bullous diseases.
