Abstract
Objective To provide the theoretical evidence for queue management in a hospital by comparing the two waiting queue models at multiple servers. Methods Queue-related data were extracted the hospital information system(HIS).Average arrival and service rate were calculated.Evaluation indexes were obtained using the queuing mathematical model and auxiliary algorithm program of M/M/1 and M/M/C model. Results The performance of a single waiting queue sharing more servers was significantly better than that of more waiting queues sharing one server. Conclusion A single waiting queue sharing more servers should be used in a hospital.
