Abstract
Objective:To observe the regulatory functions of a kind of dietary fiber containing mainlyβ-1,6 glucosan on blood lipid and blood glucose. Methods: Based on related diagnostic standards, select the patients with hyperlipidemia, impaired glucose tolerance from physical examination. The patients with hyperlipidemia took 8 g of dietary fiber without controlling their diet and taking drug to reduce blood lipid. After one month of observation, their blood triglyceride and cholesterol were measured. The patients with impaired glucose tolerance were divided into three groups: the control group was received dietary control education only once; The dietary control group was received dietary control education every two months; Dietary fiber group took 8 g of dietary fiber every day as well as receiving dietary control education. Oral glucose tolerance test was carried out before and six months after the experiment. Results: After taken 8 g of dietary fiber every day for one month, the serum triglyceride of the patients was reduced to 2.56±1.91 from 4.39±4.09( mmol/L)and serum cholesterol was reduced to 5.49±1.11 from 6.63±0.63(mmol/L).Compared to the control group, the blood level after 2 hours of taking oral glucose was reduced in dietary group, but not significantly. There were 36.36% of the patients became diabetes in control group while in dietary fiber group there were only 18.8% of the patients became diabetes after 6 months of the experiment (P<0.05), indicating that β-1,6 glucosan can reduce the percentage of the patients with impaired blood tolerance to become diabetes.
