Abstract
Objective To improve the compliance of elderly patients with atrial fibrillation to warfarin treatment and reduce the risk of bleeding.Methods Therapeutic efficiency of warfarin anticoagulation therapy for 45 elderly patients with atrial fibrillation was evaluated after they received nursing intervention with the guidance of in-hospital and discharge instructions.Results The patients administered the drugs as required.The INR values were within the target range.No bleeding and other complications occurred.The therapeutic outcome was satisfactory.Conclusion Individualized comprehensive nursing intervention can improve the compliance of elderly patients with atrial fibrillation to warfarin anticoagulation therapy.
