Comparison of intubation dacryocystography and conventional dacryocystography

A comoarison of conventional dacryocystography （CDCG） to intubation dacryocystography （IDCG） was made in 114 eyes of patients suffering from diseases of lacrimal drainage systems （LDS）. It was found that IDCC was superior to CDCG in the displaying of canalicular duct and in the judgement of whether the contrast medium has reached the nasal cavity; IDCG was also superior to CDCG in the distension of the sac and duct, and in the reproducibility of the results. Besides, the manoeuvre of IDCG is easy to learn and to be practised. So, it is recommended that CDCG should be replaced by IDCG in the X-ray examination of LDS.
