Abstract
Objectives To evaluate the feasibility of infusing cell suspension into rabbit femoral head after trephination decompression. Methods Trephination of femoral head was performed in 20 and 4 New Zealand rabbits with femoral head osteonecrosis,0.9% sodium chloride solution and Indian ink were injected respectively into the femur under X ray guidance for its decompression.Micro-CT,histology and immunochemistry were used to show the distribution of sodium chloride solution and Indian ink. Results Trephination decompression of femoral head could be achieved using 2mm Kirschner wire and bone marrow aspiration needle. The sodium chloride solution and Indian ink were uniformly distributed. Conclusion Femoral head osteonecrosis can be treated with trephination decompression of femoral head and infusion of cell suspension into femoral head of rabbits.
