The prophylactic effect of salviae mitiorrhizae, ligustrazini on experimental respiretory distress syndrome （RDS） caused by oleic acid in Waster rats

The prophylactic effect of salviae mitiorrhizae and ligustrazini on exprimental RDS in rat were observed and compared with the dexamethasone. Sixty two male rats, weighing 194.685.74g （X±SE）, were tested in this experiment. The rats were randomized into five roups according to different testing agents used. The results showed that all of these agents mproved the lesions caused by oleic acids. The lung/body index was reduced. Prophylactic ffects of salviae mitiorrhizae and ligustrazini are similar to dexamethasone. We considered hat preventive use of salviae mitiorrhizae or ligustrazini with high dose can protect the ungs rom the development of ARDS.
