Abstract
Objective To study the clinical value of combined color Doppler ultrasonography and human epididymis protein(HE4,a new tumor marker)detection for the diagnosis of early epithelial ovary cancer. Methods Serum HE4 level was measured in 36 patients with epithelial ovary cancer(group A) and in 106 patients with benign ovary tumor(group B) by ELISA.Their ultrasonographic and postoperative pathologic findings were observed. Results The serum HE4 level was significantly higher while the resistance index(RI) was significantly lower in group A than in group B(P<0.05).The sensitivity and specificity of combined color Doppler ultrasonography and HE4 detection were 94.4% and 95.3% respectively, which were higher than those of color Doppler ultrasonography or HE4 detection alone. Conclusion Combined color Doppler ultrasonography and HE4 detection can improve the early diagnosis of ovary cancer.
