Effects of acupuncture on segmental myocardial function of different regions in left ventricle during acute myocardial ischemia

This study,by the direct measurement of myocardial tension,was designed to observe the influences of acupuncture on segmental myocardial function of different regions in the left ventricle during acute myocardial ischemia in 30 dogs.The results showed that after ligation of the descending branch of left anterior of coronary artery（LAD）,myocardial contractility of ischemic region was seriously impaired,while that of non-ischemic region compensatively increased.After electroacupuncture was given at“Nei Guan”point,DT and dT/dt_max of ischemic region increased significantly,but t-dT/dt_max was shorten obviously.In the meantime,compensative function in non-ischemic region got a better maintance,suggesting that adjusted effects of acupuncture on myocardial ischemia of left ventricle,during acute myocardial ischemia,resulted in improving myocardial contractility of different regions of left ventricle.
