Effect of Qiqi Concentrated Mixture on Chronic Renal lnsufficiency inRats

Animal model of Chronic renal failure（CRF） was induced in Wistar rat by 7/8nephrectomy.Some of them were treated with Qiqi Concentrated Mixture （Qiqi） in form ofdecoction per Os and the others served as control.The results of this study were summarized as: 1.Qiqi could reduce the level of serum creatinine, triglyceride and proteinuria in the rats;2. Being treated with Qiqi,the experimental rats showed decreased level of IL-1 in the culturesupernatant of peritoneal macrophages, and it seemed to be able to enhance the ability ofsplenocyte to produce IL-2 induce by PHA: 3.The renal histopathological lesions of the experi-mental rats were improved by treatment with Qiqi concentrated mixture.
