Application of hand-held miniaturized B-mode ultrasound instruments in diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases in field hospitals

Objective To discuss the application of hand-held miniaturized B-mode ultrasound 3.5MHz probe in diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in field hospitals. Methods A 3.5MHz probe of hand-held miniaturized B-mode ultrasound instruments and a 2.5MHz probe of color Doppler（CDFI）were used in diagnosis of cardiovascular disease of 636 cases. Results The positive diagnostic rate of hand-held miniaturized B-mode ultrasound instruments and CDFI was 62%and 68%for cardiovascular disease,respectively.The positive diagnostic rate of hand-held miniaturized B-mode ultrasound instruments was over 90%for coronary heart disease,rtheumatic heart disease,hypertensive heart disease,and 72%for heart valve disease,respectively,which were similar to those of CDFI. Conclusion Hand-held miniaturized B-mode ultrasound 3.5MHz probe can be used in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in field hospitals.
