Accuracy of international normalized ratio detected with CoaguChek XS

Objective To compare the accuracy of international normalized ratio（INR） detected with CoaguChek XS（Roche Diagnostics,Basel Switzerland） in finger capillaries after sterilized with 75% alcohol and iodophor. Methods Eighty patients admitted to our hospital in March-August 2008 were divided into group A（n=40） and group B（n=40）.Their INR was detected with CoaguChek XS using two kinds of testing paper after sterilized with 75% alcohol and iodophor,respectively,and compared. Results No statistical difference was found in INR between the 2 detection methods and the two sterilization methods. Conclusion CoaguChek XS is more convenient and rapid to provide reliable data and leads to less injury to patients.Iodophor sterilization does not influence the accuracy of INR detected with CoaguChek XS.
