Treatment of adult acute leukemia with allogenic bone marrow transplantation（BMT）

Three patients with acute leukaemia had undergone BMT since April 1985. In two cases who received BMT during their first remission long term engraftment was achieved as evidenced by the presence of dornors’ blood group and karyotype. They lived in a disease-free state for more than 24 and 6 months respectively, and are still alive. The third one was treated in the 2nd remission and died of severe GVHD on+23 day. She also showed donor’s sex chromosome on 15 days after BMT.Fractional TBI seems to be better than single TBI, because of its low incidence of interstitial pneumonia and other side effects. The effects of Cyclosporin A+MTX and MTX+Prednisone+r-globulin in the prevention of GVHD was compared, the formor being more effective but expensive, while the latter being less expensive and more easily accepted by the patients.
