Histopathologic changes of uvula in severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome

Objective:To investigate the histopathologic changes of uvula in severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome（OSAHS）.Methods:The uvula specimen of patients with severe OSAHS were studied by using microscope.Results:Changes had taken place in mucosa,gland,muscle,nerve,and blood vessel of uvula specimen in severe OSAHS.Conclusion:These changes may be caused by heavy snoring and hypoxia,in return,these changes can contribute to the upper airway obstructive in OSAHS.
