Monitoring of antimicrobial resistance in our hospital in 2007

  • Objective To investigate the distribution of bacteria and monitoring of antimicrobial resistance in our hospital in 2007 in order to provide the scientific reference for clinical anti-infection therapy. Methods Antimicrobial susceptibility was tested with agar method,and the results of antimicrobial resistance monitoring were analyzed using the WHONET 5.4 software. Results A total of 1 502 bacterial strains were isolated in 2007. Of them,887 were gram-negative bacteria,402 were Gram-positive bacteria,and 213 were fungi. The sequence of common bacteria was pseudomonas aeruginosa(Pa), escherichia coli,staptococcus epidermidis,staptococcus aurcus,klebesiella pneumoniae,enterococcus faecium and Acinetobacter baumanniis,with a corresponding isolated rate of 16.5%,13.5%,6.3%,5.8%,5.5%,4.4%,and 3.9%,respectively. The proportion of MRSA and MRSE was 57.9% and 96.4%,respectively. Vancomycin and teicoplanin resistant staphlococci were not isolated. The resistance rate of vancomycin and teicoplanin to staptococci was 1.8% and 3.6%,respectively. Gram-negative bacteria had the best sensitivity to IPM. Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from sputum specimens was the highest with an isolated rate of 24.0% and CAZ had the best sensitivity to IPM. Twenty-one escherichia coli strains were isolated from blood with a positive rate of 19.3%. Conclusion Antimicrobial resistance supervision should be strengthened,which can promote the reasonable use of antimicrobial agents.
