Clinical and coronary arteriography characteristics of different gender patients with acute myocardial infarction

  • Objective To study the clinical characteristics of different gender patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI). Methods Two hundred AMI patients were divided in male group(n=100) and female group(n=100) and their clinical characteristics were retrospectively analyzed. Results The average age of patients in female group was greater than that of those in male group(P<0.05).The incidence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus was higher in female group than in male group(P<0.05).No difference was observed in hyperlipemia, infarction size, characteristics of coronary lesions, and arrhythmia between the two groups(P>0.05).The Killip classification≥Ⅲ and the mortality during hospital stay time were higher in female group than in male group(P<0.05). Conclusion The number of risk factors for female AMI patients is greater and the mortality during hospital stay time of them is high.
