Relation of uric acid and C-reactive protein with type 2 diabetic hypertension and nephropathy

Abstract
Objective To study the relation between hyperuricemia,C-reactive protein(CRP)and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)with hypertension and nephropathy. Methods A total of 132 of T2DM patients were selected and divided into three groups.Patients in group 1 had no combined disease,patients in group 2 had combined high blood pressure,and patients in group 3 had combined nephropathy.Levels of blood uric acid(UA),CRP,creatinine(Cr),blood urea nitrogen,fasting glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,fasting insulin and blood-fat were measured. Results The level of UA was significantly higher in all experimental groups than in control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).The level of Cr was significantly higher in simple DM group than in control and T2DM groups(P<0.001,P<0.01).Multiple regression analysis showed that UA in the T2DM group was positively correlated with diabetic blood pressure(DBP),TG and Cr,but negatively correlated with HDL-C.UA was positively correlated with FINS.CRP in the T2DM group was positively correlated with FPG,UAER and Cr. Conclusion Diabetic high blood UA and CRP may be involved in the occurrence and development of high blood pressure and nephropathy.Their dynamic monitoring can predicate DMEH and DN.
