The effect of MMAC hemoperfusion on plasma amino acids, insulin, glucagon in liver damaged rats

  • An in vivo MMAC (Micro in Macro Arfificial Cells) hemoperfusion was performed in D-Galn induced liver damaged rats. The results showed significant removal of aromatic amino acids. methyonine as well as glucagon insulin by the use of MMAC. The addition of calcium chelatin agents EDTA to the blood during hemoperfusion resulted in an elimination of its effect causing loss of the formed blood elements.
