Epidermal growth factor receptor mutation in bronchioloalveolar carcinoma

ObjectiveTo study the somatic mutation of tyrosine kinase （TK） domain of epidermal growth factor receptor （EGFR gene）in bronchioloalveolar carcinoma （BAC） patients.MethodsMutational analysis for EGFR exons 18 -21 was performed in 37 BAC patients.ResultsSomatic mutations in the TKdomain of EGFR were identified in 18 of the 37（48.6%） patients, including3 cases of amino acid substitution in exon 18 （8.1%）, 5 cases in exon 19（13.5%）, 7 cases of amino acid substitution in exon 20（18.9%） and8 cases of amino acid substitution in exon 21（21.6%）.ConclusionEGFR gene is associated with BAC.
