A study of gene polymorphism of the angiotensin-converting enzyme,angiotensinogen and angiotensin receptor type 1 in pilots

  • Objective: To understand gene polymorphism of the angiotensin-converting enzyme,angiotensinogen and angiotensin receptor type 1 in pilots,and to investigate the association between gene polymorphism and the perfomance of the pilots.Methods: 253 pilots and 236 healthy control subjects were genotyped for the insertion/delation(I/D) polymorphism of the(angiotensin)-converting enzyme(ACE) gene,M235T polymorphism of angiotensinogen(AGT) gene and A1166C polymorphism of angiotensin receptor type 1(ATR1) gene by the polymerase chain reaction(PCR).Results: It was showed the genotype II and I allele frequency of ACE were significantly higher in pilots(45.06% and 0.67) than that in healthy subjects(31.36% and(0.52)).No difference between the two groups was found for the AGT and ATR1 genotypes.Conclusion: It is suggested that I gene of ACE may play a role in performance of the pilots.peptidyl-dipeptidase A;angiotensinogen;receptors,angiotensin;aviator
