Nursing of severe pulmonary infection patients after kidney transplantation

  • Objective To explore the nursing of severe pulmonary infection patients after kidney transplantation. Methods Forty-five patients with severe pulmonary infection following kidney transplantation received specialized nursing and psychotherapy and were treated with drugs. Results Of the 45 patients, 32(71.1%) recovered and 13 died (28.9%). Conclusion Pulmonary infection usually occurs 6 months after kidney transplantation and is characterized by the diversity of etiology and multiple complications, rapid progression of the disease and a high mortality. Such patients should be isolated after through disinfection and receive basic nursing.
