Application of computerized potable chemotherapy pump and nursing of patients

Objective To summary the application of computerized potable chemotherapy pump in chemotherapy and nursing of patients on chemotherapy using computerized potable chemotherapy pump. Methods Thirty patients undergoing 5-FU continuous pumping chemotherapy using computerized potable chemotherapy pump in our department were observed from January 2009 to March 2009. Results The pumping time of drugs using computerized potable chemotherapy pump was（0.195±0.171）h longer than that required by medical order.Its alerting device could discover any problems occurred in drug pumping,and ensure the continuous pumping of drugs.It had no obviously effect on the daily activities but had certain effects on cloth changing and sleeping of the patients. Conclusion Computerized potable chemotherapy pump can be accurately and safely applied in chemotherapy,and can ensure the effect of chemotherapeutic drugs and improve the nursing quality of patients.
