Effect of Shengmai injection on side-effects of chemotherapy for aged patients with malignant tumor

  • Objective To observe and analyze the clinical effect of Shengmai injection on side-effects of chemotherapy for aged patients with malignant tumor. Methods A total of 74 aged patients with malignant tumor were randomly divided into treatment group(n=35) and control group(n=39). Patients in treatment group received conventional chemotherapy plus daily intravenous injection of 60mL Shengmai + 250mL normal saline,while patients in control group received only conventional chemotherapy for 10 days,respectively. Results Improvement in bone marrow depression,gastrointestinal tract reaction,fatigue,and immunity was more significant in treatment group than in control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Shengmai injection can reduce the toxic and side-effects of chemotherapy for malignant tumors and strengthen immunity and quality of life in aged patients with malignant tumor.
