PSG characteristics of serious OSAS patients in the young and middle-aged

Objective: To analyse the characteristics of OSAS patients in the young and the middle-aged. Methods: 1.Analyse the PSG signals of 16 patients proved by PSG with serious OSAS.Of the 16 patients,there were eight young men under 35 and the other eight middle-aged men beyond 40. 2.The percent of respiratory events in each sleep stage were compared in the two groups. 3.The body mass index（BMI）、apnea and hypopnea index（AHI）、saturation impair time index（SIT_90-70）、mean apnea time、longest apnea time、mean SaO₂ and lowest SaO₂ were compared in the two groups. Results: 1.The percent of respiratory events in stageⅡ of the two groups is different. 2.The AHI、SIT _90-70、mean SaO₂、lowest SaO₂ of the two groups are different. Conclusion: 1.The percent of respiratory events of the two groups in NREM is different. 2.The AHI and SIT 90-70 of the young are higher than of the middle-aged.The mean SaO₂ and the lowest SaO₂ of the young are lower than of the middle-aged.
