Exploration of pathological characterististics on breast cancer in aged women over 70 years

Objective: To explore the pathological characteristic of breast cancer in women more than 70 years old.Methods: The clinical data from 46 women aged more than or equal to 70 years from 2004 to 2006 were analyzed retrospectively according to the relationship between the tumor size,axillary lymph nodes,estrogen receptor（ER）,progesterone receptor（PR）,and CerbB-2 in breast cancer.Results: In the aged group,the positive rates of ER was higher than that of control group（P=0.04）.The positive rate of CerbB-2 was lower than that of control group（P=0.02）.Conclusion:Breast cancer in aged women has low histological grade,the parameter of weak invasion and good prognostic profile.Higher expression of ER and lower expressions of CerbB-2 may explain the clinical features.
