Significance of the serum concentration of volproate in the treatment of epilepsy

The concentration of serum volproate was measured in 30 childen with epileps of arient types. The averege dose of drug given to them was 20.65mg/kg/d, and the average oncentration of volproate in serum was 51.6μg/ml. The result of our study indicats that the good esponse can be obtained with the doses of 10—25mg/kg/d, and tolerated in most of the cased ithout ntowaed effect, even the drung is used for a long period.
