Remaking of the obturator

Making of the obturator for the patient suffering from the large maxillary defect is ifficult, especially for the hollow and zygo-buccal-flange naso-pharyngeal prong obturator. It s more difficult to remake a new one. The author provids a method to make it easier. Firstly, he old obturator is molded with molding wax to correct the defect and deficiendy, and then xamined in the mouth of the patient. It should be corrected repeatedly to satisfy both the atient and dentist. Then the obturator is boxed with several seperated sections and layers of laster. Other steps are in accordance with routine steps. A new obturator which is remade with his method is quite easy to operate and simplifies working processes. After 1—3 year ollowing-up the outcome is very satisfactory.
