Abstract
One hundred and eight skulls of adult subjects, 66 with integrate dentition, 22 edentulous, 11 with unilateral loss (right or left) and 9 with some loss of the teeth, and 20 models with normal dentition and 20 edentulous were measured in 5 items. The contrast analyses between group with dentition and edentulous group were also made. The results show that after the teeth loss, because of the atrophy of alveolar crest, the buccal portion of maxillar alveolar crest is replaced by zygomatic area which becomes wider, and simultaneously provide on important reference index for the manufactory of the zygomatic-buccal flange denture and obturator.
