An evaluation of clearance rate of aminoacids test for estimation of hepatic functional reserve

The ICGR₁₅ ,clearance rate of aminoacids （CRAA）, oral glucose tolerance test （OGTT） and several roultine hepatic function tests （Bil, GPT, PT, ALB） were made before operation in 10 patients with hepatobiliary diseases （group I） and 5 non hepaobiliary patients （groupⅡ）. All the results were made correlative analysis with liver tissue ATP levels. Results showed that all the group I patients with ICGR₁₅ ＞10%,while in group Ⅱ, all ICGR₁₅ ＜10%;CRAA in group I was markedly lower than that in group Ⅱ. The ATP level of hepatic tissue was most correlated with ICGR₁₅ and CRAA. Therefore, CRAA is a valuable test for evaluation of hepatic functional reserve before hepatic surgery is undertaken.
