Change in plasma cardionations in patients with cardiac decompensat on in the serum

In order to determine the amount of cardionations in 26 normal people and 16 patients with cardiac decompehsation in the plasma the antibody of cordionation was determined by a radioimmunoassay method.The results showed.that average amount of cardionatrine was 508±62 pg/ml in the serum from a normal subject and,104±28pg/ml in the patients with cardiac decompensation.Among the latter group the patients with class Ⅵ heart failure had an average concentration of cardionatrine of 34.4±8.4 pg/ml,while a value of 256±42pg/ml was found in class Ⅲ patients（P＜0.001）.Those with both left and right sided heart failure had a concentration of cardionatrine at a level of 36±88 pg/ml being less than that in either left-sided heart failure or rightsided failure alone（P＜0.01）. Considering with the cause of heart failure,it was found that cardionatrine in patients with rheumatic heart failure was the lowest,that in those with pulmonale was less reduced and least reduced in those with coronary heart disease.
