Combination Radiotherapy of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer with Chemohyperthermia

The combination therapy of lung cancer with radiation-hyperthermia and chemotherapywas investigated in 48 patients since March 1992 to June 1993, 22 patient;were treated withirradiation only, and the others with radiotherapy and chemohyperthermia. In total 48 cases,39 were squamous cell carcinoma, 8 were adenocarcinoma and one was carcino.The irradiationdose is 50-70 Gy.Hyperthermia was performed twice a week with 60 min after each irradia-tion,using 8 MHz R F capacitive heating equipment.The effective rate was 73.1%in radio-chemo-hyperthermia group,59.1%in irradiation group, P＞0.05. The results indicate that it ismore effective to treat synthetically advanced lung cancer with irradiation-hyperthermia and che-motherapy,recent effection is superior to irradiation only.
