Treatment for gingival recession with rotated split thickness gingival flap

  • Gingival recession and root surface exposure of single anterior toorh usually cause its sensitivity to cold, hot and sweet foods, and impair the aesthetics of anterior teeth. Although symptoms can be transiently remitted by application of desensitizers, teeth aesthetic problem still exists, During the recent two years, we have covered the denuded root surface with a rotated split thickness gingival flap and gained satisfactory results. The symptoms disappeared and teeth aesthetics were improved significantly. The design and surgical procedure of this new gingival graft operation are introduced in this article.
