Abstract
Objective: to investigate the characteristics of humoral immunity of patients with SARS.Methods: The levels of the specific IgG and IgM in the serum of patients with SARS were detected by ELISA.Results: The specific IgG in serum of patients with SARS increased continuously during hospitalization,The maximal rate of positive samples was 77.3%;The levels of specific IgM increased continuously in the first three weeks during in-hospital,then the maximum of IgM was found in the third week,the positive rate were 60%, and decreased quickly during the for th week.The occurrence of the specific positive IgM was earlier than that of IgG by one week.Conclution: There were specific IgG antibody in serum of all patients with SARS and the specific IgM were only found in serum of 70%~80% patients with SARS.The generation time and the basic characteristics of the specific antibody of patients with SARS were similar to that of other infectious diseases.
